  1. I scan these houseboy profiles almost daily, looking for new posts, re-reading the ones I didn’t contact but was tempted to do so. I’m disturbed by the proliferation of two questionnaire responses, “ask me,” and “it depends.” I can understand “ask me,” if a response requires some kind of explanation that justifies an answer that might otherwise eliminate the man from consideration But when a potential houseboy answers several questions with “ask me,” I tend to presume that he wants to Guatemala what answer I would like to hear. The same is true for “it depends.” One such answer is leaving something unknown, but I bypass the men who have several indefinite responses. Am I being paranoid, or unfair to these guys?
  2. I was invited to return after an absence but after searching seemingly every corner I can’t find how to update our profile
  3. I'd love to see the addition of a keyword search to this website. I've used the advanced search option, but it doesn't allow for all the questions someone answers to be used in a search. By simply adding a keyword search it would make finding a suitable houseboy a lot easier. Secondly (and I realize this is a bit anal of me) I've been seeing a lot of "Ask me" in profiles where people didn't care enough to answer a few questions to complete their profile. While for me this is an obvious red flag for me that the person is lazy. A lot of people may not realize how much this is hurting their chances of being selected as a suitable candidate for a houseboy role. By sending notifications to those profiles that have not been completed these guys might be inspired to actually take the time to fill out their profiles so people seeking a houseboy might actually know enough to make an informed decision.
  4. This is a business arrangement between employee (houseboy) and employer. Much like the hiring process in a typical business. The employer has a job opening. The houseboy posts a resume (profile). The employer looks for a resume that matches his requirements. The employer initiates contact expressing interest. The houseboy checks the employer's profile and decides whether to return contact. There is some back and forth communication. If the initial cut passes there will likely be a job interview. Which, if successful, will lead to a job offer. It seems that a critical factor in receiving a successful job offer is having a good resume (profile) posted. So, if you are a legitimate houseboy I would suggest: Act like you're applying for a job. Your "resume" (profile) is what will make the initial cut with prospective employers. So keep it up to date. It is amazing how many profiles here have not been updated (edited) in over a year - and you're serious about seeking a house boy position?! REALLY!
