Currently living in the Midwest and have been in a successful HB situation for about five years. Started off as friends and developed into a long-standing relationship. I’ve played the role as housekeeper as well as private nurse having helped my dad friend through two heavy surgeries. Upon a recent move to a house that helps my friend live an easier life and in much better health in years I’m feeling a bit underutilized. I am a very social person and my support character side comes out easily. I appreciate my independence but truly feel better when I’m of service to others. Restaurant industry most of my life so I know how to work hard. I’m looking for a temporary arrangement that might turn into something stable. I truly do care for my current arrangement and I would do anything for him, but given his better health I just don’t feel I’m as useful as I once was. Hello there boys & gentlemen! I just joined up yesterday and I'm already being flattered with winks you all are too sweet! I'd like to think I have a generally good understanding of this site, the etiquette and duties required of a houseboy....but can anyone tell me of times that it has worked out successfully? Either for short term or long term arrangements I'm curious to hear whether or not this is something I should truly commit to. My heart is in the right place, but I question if other's are as careful. So let's hear it! Houseboys! What was good/bad? Any advice for a newcomer? Employers! What are some things you'd recommend?
