I realize this may be highly variable, but there must be certain ranges that are customary. If I am to offer to set up an arrangement, what types of benefits should I offer. Salary amount? Own bedroom? Use of one of my cars? Travel with me, how often? Can some people post some rough ranges of what they consider appropriate? I'm not asking ranges, but I'd love to hear from employers and houseboys alike on what they consider to be fair recompense. It is quite difficult to make an arrangement without knowing a little bit about the market rates. sjames699 Posted January 9, 2014 Report Share Posted January 9, 2014 I rented a room from a guy who had a houseboy (who is now my friend) and it was a simple rent for chores deal. Nothing more.
