Very personable, he persuaded me to buy an airline ticket, and called me that morning to tell me he was on the way to the airport. After a few hours at the airport on my end, him a no show, and no response to text or phone, he finally responded that he went back home to take a nap. 

He went through a lot of effort to get me to buy a ticket and wait at the airport. 

don't you think he maybe used the ticket, flew in, and just dodged you at the airport?
